Preconceptions are a funny thing.  If someone told you about a tennis holidays located in Spain, but set off the coast of Africa, a hiding place that boasts superb beaches with great weather,  home to the world’s second largest Carnival and award-winning wines you’d probably want to visit.  If I told you it was Gran Canaria, some of your thoughts might turn to sunburnt Europeans, dodgy fried food and all things tacky.

It’s time to set the record straight about tennis in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.  You certainly can find these things in Gran Canaria (like any place) but not if you follow our lead.

And if sun is your God – the south is a warm welcome! Las Palmas in the north is a lovely extension, less expensive, sun included.

International players

We receive adult players from all over the world, not only for our tennis camps on set weeks, but for private coaching.

There are not many tennis clubs in Las Palmas and most people don’t speak English, which makes it hard to play tennis in the city.

At Costa del Tennis we pick players up from Las Canteras beach and Santa Catalina hotel and take them to Tafira (12 minutes away from the Las Palmas) to play.

The expats are also starting to join us, both for language, exercise, socialization and learning.

The sweet-spot is tennis in Tafira Alta – Santa Brígida.

The colorful, multi-styled villas have managed to maintain their original colonial ambiance.  The fresh air and natural Spanish setting is quite lovely while you crack your first morning tennis ball.  In this idyllic location you feel you’ve found a true winter refuge to play the sport.

The goal of tennis in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is to maximize the work done on court in a short amount of time and return home with a result your happy & proud of. Court ratios are kept small to advance training and overall performance by weeks end.

Court surface is lightly sanded carpet for a mild slide and ease on the body.  Full pro shop, lessons in English, racquet rental and cafe also on site.

Here, you’ll feel you’re in Spain.  Here, you’re on holiday!  A perfect place to buckle down and get a weeks worth out of your tennis.

A perfect blend of local culture, tennis and a break away.
